Child Protection Policy
Protecting and caring for all children
The normal age for Apollo Players full adult membership is 16. Many of our productions however feature children and, if so, any age / height restriction will be advised at auditions.
Where children are involved, we have a Matron and numerous disclosured Chaperones available during rehearsals and performances. The Apollo Players also have a Child Protection Officer and 12 members who have been Disclosure checked. Licences may have to be applied for from the Local Authority Education Department, and advice to parents / guardians will be given if this is the case.

The Apollo Players recognises its duty of care under the Children and Young Persons Act 1963, the Child (Performances) Regulations 1968, the Protection of Children Act 1999 and the Protection of Children (Scotland) Act 2003. The Society recognises that abuse can take many forms, whether it be physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse or neglect. The Society is committed to practice which protects children from harm. All members of the Society accept and recognise their responsibilities to develop awareness of the issues which cause children harm.

THE APOLLO PLAYERS consider it the duty of all those involved with the organisation to prevent the physical, sexual or emotional abuse or neglect of all children with whom they come into contact, including reporting any abuse discovered or suspected.
