Jacque McGougan
Jacque qualified with the BATD at 17yrs old. Her background is in Public Relations and Promotions. She took a year out and performed professionally abroad before coming home and opening own dance school, which was very successful for 17 yrs, until Connor came along. Jacque joined the Apollo Players at 19 and has performed as a principal dancer in many musical shows over the years. During that time she spent three summers at the California Institute of Dance Education.
Jacque took on the role as Assistant Choreographer to John Carlyle for the Apollo Players, and also Choreographed Kiss Me Kate for the Lyric Club. She has also choreographed for The Rangers Club events, Radio Clyde events Scottish Autistic Society Fundraising Cabarets and catwalk promotions. Jacque is now delighted to join the TAP's team in what she is sure will be an exciting time for both Tutor and Students.
Karen Martin - Dance
Karen trained at the theatre school of dance and drama in Edinburgh.
Her Choreographic work includes:'Company Policy'(Oran Mor);'Sleeping Beauty'(Macrobert Theatre); 'Bingomood' commercial (STV ); 'SevenYear Itch' (Random Accomplice); 'Gies a Hand' (Urbancroft/Action for Children); 'Be near me' (NTS Learn); 'journey', 'As others see us', for a that' and 'Futurered' (7:84 Theatre Company performances Glasgow, New York and Washington.); 'Macbeth' (National Theatre of Scotland, Harbour Arts centre); 'Cinderella' and 'Mother Goose' (Macrobert Theatre); 'Fame', 'Tommy', 'Oliver' and 'Bugsy Malone' ( YMTS, Macrobert and Adam Smith Theatre.); 'West side Story'( YMTS,Byre Theatre, St Andrews).
She also works as a freelance dance tutor working with children and adults of varying ages and abilities for Dance House, Stagecoach, Taps and The Macrobert.
Karen also worked professionally as a dancer for many years working in both Theatre and commercial dance.
Lucia Wright - Music
Lucia has been training for the past 3 years and will be graduating with a BA Honours in Musical Theatre this summer.
Lucia is trained in The Estill Voice Training System and uses this method in her singing classes. She has performed in musicals such as: The Scottish Premier of Rent, Songs for a New World, Thoroughly Modern Millie, We Will Rock You, Bugsy Malone, Anon - work shop production and performed in many cabarets and musicals of the night such as One Night Only.
Plays that Lucia has performed in are Confusions by Alan Ayckbourne and The Possibilities by Howard Barker. She has also been lead vocalist in George Square's Winterfest for Glasgow City Council and performed in various locations as Miss Starlet in Murder Mystery Events.
Aaron Mooney - Drama
Previously appearing as Bundles and President Roosevelt in Annie, Amos Scudder and Edgar Templeton in Barnum, Colonel Pickering in My Fair Lady, Herr Zeller in The Sound of Music, the ship's Captain in Anything Goes, Mr Sowerberry in Oliver!(2004), Uncle Henry/The Gatekeeper to The Emerald City in The Wizard of Oz and Ali Hakim in Oklahoma!
Other stage credits include Heavenly Friend in Carousel, Njegus in The Merry Widow, Sir Jasper Tring in Me and My Girl, Harrison Howell in Kiss Me, Kate, Foster Wilson and Pawnee Bill in Annie Get Your Gun, Mark in The Melody Lingers On - The Life Story of Irving Berlin, and Rooster in Annie.
Aaron has also performed a variety of pantomime roles. Drama roles include Nick (The Devil) in The Deil's Bargain, Larry in Do You Know This Man?, Mr. Murdstone in David Copperfield, Alec in Men Should Weep, Mr. Sands in The Room, and Rasputin Plunkett in Paras Over The Barras and Gerald Croft in An Inspector Calls.
Aaron has passed his Teacher's Diploma of Speech and Drama through Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
