Walter Paul

We are delighted to welcome Walter to this his first appearance with The Apollo Players. He has played all the comedy baritone roles in every one of the thirteen existing Gilbert and Sullivan operas, mainly with The Orpheus Club, for whom he has also produced since 1981. He directed the European premiere of John Wolfson?s version of THE GRAND DUKE and produced and directed the British premiere of Wolfson and Affoumado?s musical CASANOVA. In drama, his roles have included BILLY LIAR, Sir Thomas More and the Father in A VOYAGE ROUND MY FATHER. He directed the Scottish premiere of THE LIFE AND ADVENTURES OF NICHOLAS NICKLEBY, which the 8 1/2 hour production won three major drama awards. He formed the musical group Ad-Hoc in 1986 which performs contrasting programmes of musicals and G&S. He will produce THE MIKADO for The Orpheus Club at the Theatre Royal next March.
