Campbell has played a wide variety of roles in musical theatre including Billy Bigelow in CAROUSEL, Curly in OKLAHOMA!, Robert in THE NEW MOON, the Red Shadow in THE DESERT SONG, Tommy Albright in BRIGADOON, Casanova in CASANOVA - THE MUSICAL, Guiseppe in THE GONDOLIERS, Dexter in HIGH SOCIETY, Johann Strauss II (Schani) in THE GREAT WALTZ, Mr Snow in CAROUSEL, Wild Bill Hickock in CALAMITY JANE, Anatoly in CHESS, Freddy in MY FAIR LADY, Fred Graham/Petruchio in KISS ME KATE, Gaylord Ravenal in SHOW BOAT, Parchester in ME AND MY GIRL, the popular Mr Bumble in OLIVER! (2000-2002) and the King of Siam in THE KING AND I. Plays include Rev Hale in THE CRUCIBLE, Romainville in RING ROUND THE MOON and Otto Frank in THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK. Campbell is much in demand as a vocalist, regularly appearing in concerts throughout Scotland, most recently at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall in THE SOUND OF HIS MUSIC. Pantomime season always finds Campbell busy having played everything from principal boy to evil villain and most recently as a very popular pantomime Dame. He returns to the King's later this year as Daddy Warbucks in ANNIE.
