David A. Simpson

David is a relative newcomer to musical theatre. His stage debut was at 16, when he played Cookie in RETURN TO THE FORBIDDEN PLANET at school. He then progressed to local amateur theatre companies in his home town of Falkirk. With Falkirk Youth Theatre, David has played the principal roles of Sir John Tremayne in ME AND MY GIRL, both Vittorio Vidal and Daddy Brubeck in SWEET CHARITY and also appeared in RETURN TO THE FORBIDDEN PLANET. In concerts he has sung both solo and ensemble pieces from such shows as MISS SAIGON, LES MISERABLES and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. With the Tryst Theatre, David portrayed the role of Arthur Crabtree in the drama BILLY LIAR. David joined the Apollo Players in 2001 for our production of WEST SIDE STORY. He then played a Bow Street Runner in OLIVER! in 2001. In ME AND MY GIRL, David was challenged by adopting the diverse roles of both Sir Jasper Tring and Charles, the Butler. David returned to OLIVER! earlier this year to depict to the role of Mr Soweberry and is delighted to be playing the role of Freddy in MY FAIR LADY. David hopes to one day train and work professionally in musical theatre and would like to thank all his family and friends for their continued love and support.
