Claire Mckay

Claire began performing with The Apollo Players in 1998 playing the leading role of Carmen Diaz in FAME ? The Musical, which she reprised
the following year. Claire subsequently played numerous roles for the Club including Anne Dindon in La Cage aux Folles, Anita in West Side Story,
Lady Jacqueline in Me and My Girl, Lola in our Scottish Amateur Premiere Copacabana, Minnie Faye in Hello, Dolly!, Liesl in The Sound of Music and,
most recently, Fairy Nuff in our pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk.

Claire took to the stage as a showgirl in Follies at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall in aid of NCH Scotland, which she found a wonderful experience. A former Scottish Claymores Cheerleader, Claire is also the Head Coach and sole choreographer of the Glasgow Gold Star Cheerleaders which she founded in 1999 and runs this as her full time
business. Time consuming but extremely rewarding, Claire loves what she does, and has lead the many Gold Star teams to Scottish, British, European and International championship titles in the UK and the USA.

Claire is delighted to be back with The Apollo Players after a busy working year, and would like to dedicate her performance to her squad,
friends and family who have encouraged and supported her in life.
