Alan Scott

Alan began performing at an early age and has played leading and principal roles with various clubs including Barnaby Tucker in HELLO, DOLLY!, Gilbert in ANNE OF GREEN GABLES, Bobby van Husen in THE BOY FRIEND, Perchik in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, Sid Sorokin in THE PAJAMA GAME, Mordred in CAMELOT and Ready Eddie in the play AND THE COW JUMPED OVER THE MOON. In his home town of Livingston, pantomime season has always seen Alan busy, having played King Richard in BABES IN THE WOOD, Buttons in CINDERELLA, Wishee Washee in ALADDIN, Casper/Jasper in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, Prime Minister in PUSS IN BOOTS, Scarecrow in THE WIZARD OF OZ and SINBAD, which he directed. His debut with the Apollo Players was in our 1997 production of SINGIN' IN THE RAIN and he is now delighted to be appearing in his fourteenth production with us. Roles include Fred McCracken and Cornell Hull in ANNIE, Wilton in BARNUM, Joe Vegas in FAME (1998/99), the leading role of Josh Baskin in BIG - THE MUSICAL, Jean-Michel in LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, Bow Street Runner/Hussar in OLIVER!, Frank Wyman and Understudy for Mack Sennett in MACK AND MABEL, Bernardo in WEST SIDE STORY, solo vocalist in our anniversary revue 60 SHOWS ON at the Mitchell Theatre, SONGS FROM THE SHOWS for the Variety Club of Scotland, Bill Snibson in ME AND MY GIRL, Tony in the Scottish Amateur Premiere of COPACABANA and, most recently, as Harry in MY FAIR LADY. Pofessionally, Alan has appeared in Verdi's AIDA with the Romanian National Opera at the Edinburgh Playhouse and featured in radio and television commercials for Virgin's Norton House Hotel and the Scottish Sunday Express. Other television credits include TAGGART, TINSELTOWN, SEVEN DAYS, SCOTLAND TODAY and the 1996 Commonwealth Games opening ceremony in Edinburgh. Alan is delighted to be playing the role of Cornelius Hackl in this production of HELLO, DOLLY! and would like to thank his family and friends for their continued love and support.
